Emergency Mobile Tyre Fitting in Stony Stratford
High Street here is Georgian, narrow and lined with parked cars, and the A5 is a few hundred yards away doing seventy. That contrast is the local problem in a nutshell.
Emergency mobile tyre fitting across Stony Stratford
A tyre destroyed on the A5 or the A422 leaves you needing the work finished before the car moves again, and a tyre found flat on a tight street in Stony Stratford leaves you with nowhere to sit and wait for a truck.
We answer both with the same van. It carries a tyre machine, a wheel balancer, a compressor, torque tools, work lamps and stock for cars, SUVs, 4x4s and vans, which means the complete sequence happens beside the car. Wheel off, old tyre stripped, replacement mounted and balanced, pressures set, scrap loaded. The car has not been towed and nothing is outstanding.
A pothole is one of the commonest ways to burst a tyre. A square hit pinches the sidewall between the road and the rim, and that is the end of the casing. Sometimes it lets go there and then; sometimes it holds until the next roundabout. Either way the tyre is finished and no amount of air will bring it back. We come to where you have stopped in Stony Stratford, fit and balance a replacement of the correct size on the spot, and check the wheel itself for damage while it is off. From Fullers Slade to Fairfields, any hour.

Local knowledge across Stony Stratford
Parking through the town centre is at a premium and the streets around Fullers Slade and Galley Hill are residential rather than commercial, so there is nowhere sensible to leave a stranded car. Nor is there any sense driving a damaged wheel down the A422 towards Milton Keynes to find a fitting bay, since that is how a repairable tyre becomes a ruined rim. We do the entire job kerbside, balancer included, and take the old tyre away.
Typical emergency mobile tyre fitting jobs in Stony Stratford
Stopped clear of the A5
A driver whose tyre let go near the A5 got the car onto a side turning. We came to it, replaced and balanced the wheel there, and the car rejoined the road on a proper tyre rather than a space saver.
Tight fit on the High Street
A car boxed into a space on the High Street needed a wheel changed without moving. We worked from the road side, kept the van as a barrier and finished the fit without the car giving up its parking.
Wolverton Road, evening call
A hatchback on Wolverton Road had a rear go down after dark. Our own lighting went up, the tyre was replaced and balanced, and the old one left in the van.

Emergency Mobile Tyre Fitting in Stony Stratford, FAQs
Expect us in around 30 to 60 minutes, with a firm time given before the van leaves. On the High Street or a drive off it, the fitting is then a 20 to 30 minute job.
Usually yes, though we may position the van a little further along and carry the kit to the car. If a spot is genuinely impossible we will say so and suggest the nearest workable place.
No. It goes in the van with us. You are not left storing a scrap casing or making a trip to a tip in Wolverton.
We can, but it is rarely the right answer. A space saver is speed and distance limited, and since we are carrying the correct tyre and the balancer anyway, fitting the real thing takes about the same time.
The full size code off the sidewall, the make and model, and where exactly the car is standing. That tells us what to load and how to park when we arrive.
