How We Write and Correct Our Guides

Last updated: 10 October 2026

Who writes the guides

Guides are published under Abed Jabbarkhel, Founder, Fast Tyre, and reflect how our fitters actually do the work: what we check before a wheel comes off, when a tyre can be repaired and when it cannot, and what to tell us on the phone. We do not publish customer stories, statistics or quotes we cannot stand behind.

How facts are checked

Every legal, safety and technical point is checked against its primary source before publication and listed in a Sources section at the end of the guide. In order of preference: legislation and gov.uk (including the Highway Code and the MOT inspection manual), National Highways, the British Standard for tyre repairs (BS AU 159) and the tyre industry bodies that publish guidance on it, and vehicle or tyre manufacturers' own documentation. Where sources disagree, or a point is our working practice rather than a rule, the guide says so.

Updates

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review guides when the law, a standard or manufacturer guidance changes, and when readers tell us something is unclear.

Reporting a mistake

If you spot an error, tell us on 07717 389637 or by email at info@fasttyre.co.uk. We check it against the source, correct the guide and update its date.

Independence

The guides are written by Fast Tyre about tyre safety and our own services. Brand and product mentions are not paid for.
