Mobile Tyre Fitting in Buckinghamshire

Most of Buckinghamshire that we drive into carries an HP postcode, and most of it is hill country. The Chilterns run diagonally across the county from the M40 near Stokenchurch up to the edge of Tring, and the towns sit in the valleys between the ridges: High Wycombe along the Wye, Chesham and Amersham along the Chess and the Misbourne, Great Missenden and Wendover on the A413, Princes Risborough at the foot of the scarp. North of the hills the land opens out into Aylesbury Vale, with Aylesbury itself, Haddenham and Long Crendon out towards the Oxfordshire border.

Why Buckinghamshire drivers call Fast Tyre

A Mercedes GLE coupe raised on a jack with the wheel off and the replacement on the ground, serving Buckinghamshire, South East England

That geography decides what a flat tyre costs you here. The valley roads are busy and narrow, the lanes over the tops are steep, unlit and edged with flint, and the nearest tyre bay can be twenty minutes away over a hill you would rather not climb on a soft tyre. So we bring the bay to the car. The van carries the tyres, the fitting machine and the balancer, and we work on the drive, in the station car park or at a safe stop off the road, from HP5 at Chesham across to HP27 at Princes Risborough.

The trouble with Buckinghamshire roads is not distance so much as gradient and width. The A413 through the Misbourne valley, the A4010 between High Wycombe and Princes Risborough and the lanes around Hazlemere, Prestwood and Lane End leave very little room to stop, and the chalk throws up flint that opens sidewalls rather than punctures treads. We know which lay-bys are usable, which car parks have the room to lift a car, and that a postcode on the hill above a village can be a mile from the village itself.

Common tyre problems in Buckinghamshire

The situations we get called out to most often across Buckinghamshire:

Flint cut on a Chiltern lane

The lanes between the valleys, around Hughenden, Hampden and the Kingshills, are cut through chalk, and the flint that comes out of it slices sidewalls. A cut in the sidewall cannot be repaired, so give us the size when you ring and we bring the replacement with us rather than finding out on arrival.

Blowout near Handy Cross

The M40 runs through the south of the county from Junction 2 at Beaconsfield to Junction 5 at Stokenchurch, with Handy Cross at Junction 4 as the busiest point. If a tyre fails on the motorway, get everyone out on the nearside, behind the barrier, and ring 999 or National Highways on 0300 123 5000. We never work on a live carriageway or hard shoulder; once the car has been moved off, we come to it in High Wycombe, Beaconsfield or wherever it has been taken.

Flat at an Amersham or Aylesbury station car park

Commuter cars sit all day at Amersham, Chalfont and Latimer, Great Missenden, Wendover, Aylesbury and Haddenham and Thame Parkway, and a slow puncture picked up on the morning run is often flat by the evening. Tell us the car park, the row and the registration, and the wheel can be done before your train gets back.

Soft verge in Aylesbury Vale

Out on the A418 and the lanes around Haddenham, Waddesdon and Long Crendon the verges are soft and often muddy from farm traffic, which is no base for a jack. We carry boards for exactly that, and lighting for the unlit stretches, so the car is lifted safely wherever it has stopped.

Tyre services in Buckinghamshire

Tell us the size off the sidewall, or read us the registration, when you ring and the van is loaded before it leaves, whether that is a family car on an Amersham drive, a 4x4 on a farm track outside Long Crendon or a van on an industrial estate in Cressex. We repair where a repair is safe, replace where it is not, balance every wheel we fit and take the old tyre away. Card and contactless are taken at the car, and the price you are quoted is the price you pay, with no out-of-hours surcharge.

Tyres we fit in Buckinghamshire

We fit the full range at the kerb in Buckinghamshire, from everyday car tyres to 4x4 and van fitments. The size is printed on the sidewall in the form 205/55 R16 91V; read it to us, or just give us the registration.

  • Car and hatchback tyres. Standard car and hatchback sizes across all three price tiers, balanced on site with the pressures set to the manufacturer plate.
  • 4x4, SUV and crossover tyres. SUV and 4x4 fitments matched on load index and speed rating, not just the size, because the wrong rating on a heavy car is a safety issue.
  • Winter and all-season tyres. All-season and winter fitments carrying the three-peak mountain snowflake mark, which means the compound has been tested to stay soft in the cold rather than just looking chunky.
  • Run-flat tyres. Standard fit on many BMW and MINI models. Once one has been run flat it is a replacement rather than a repair, and we match it across the axle.
  • Performance and premium brands. Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Pirelli and Goodyear. The tyre label grades wet braking from A downwards, and the gap between an A and an E is measured in car lengths.
  • Budget and mid-range tyres. Budget and mid-range options are legal and safe when fitted and inflated correctly. We will say plainly when the premium is worth it and when it is not.
  • Van and light commercial. Van tyres carry a C rating and a higher load index. Fitting a car tyre to a loaded van is both unsafe and an insurance problem, so we match the correct rating.

Same-day fitting is normal rather than exceptional, and we come to the car in Buckinghamshire rather than you driving to us.

Yes. Plenty of our Buckinghamshire calls come from lanes above the valleys where the house has a name rather than a number. Share your location on WhatsApp or give us the nearest junction, and we will find you, with our own lighting on the van.

Not the carriageway itself. On the M40 between Junctions 2 and 5, get everyone out behind the barrier and ring 999, or National Highways on 0300 123 5000. Once the car is off the motorway, at Beaconsfield services, Handy Cross, Stokenchurch or at home after recovery, we come to it at any hour.

Typical arrival is 30 to 60 minutes across the county. When you ring we check where the nearest van is and give you a realistic time, rather than a flattering one.

Yes. We carry sizes for cars, SUVs, 4x4s and vans, in premium, mid-range and budget brands. If you are on a farm track or a gravel drive, say so when you call and we will bring boards to lift it safely.

Yes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, across Buckinghamshire. A Sunday night callout on the A413 is ordinary work for us, and there is no out-of-hours surcharge on the price you are quoted.
