Emergency Mobile Tyre Fitting in Knebworth
Knebworth is split by the railway and the B197, with the A1(M) at junction 7 close enough that a lot of local driving involves fast roads within a minute of leaving home.
Emergency mobile tyre fitting across Knebworth
That is a bad combination for tyres. Damage happens at speed on the way in or out, and the car ends up on Station Road or Park Lane where a recovery truck and a garage booking feel wildly disproportionate to one wheel.
So we removed the garage from the equation. The van is a fitting bay with a machine, a balancer, an air line, torque tools, lamps and stock covering cars, SUVs, 4x4s and vans. Wheel off, old tyre stripped, replacement mounted, balanced and inflated, pressures set, damaged casing loaded. The car does not move, is not towed, and needs nothing further afterwards.
Tell us four things on the phone and the van finds you first time. Where you are stopped and which direction you were travelling; the make and model; the size off the sidewall of any tyre on the car; and whether you are somewhere exposed. That last one matters, because it changes how we prioritise the job. On the A1(M) itself the first call is 999 or National Highways, and we come once the car is off it. Then a fully-equipped technician heads straight for you with the replacement on board and a live ETA, typically arriving inside 30 to 60 minutes.

Local knowledge across Knebworth
Parking around the station and along the B197 is tight for most of the day, and Old Knebworth and Datchworth are narrow lanes where a stopped car quickly becomes an obstruction. Being recovered to Stevenage or Welwyn costs you the car overnight and a trip back. Finishing the job kerbside means the wheel is stripped, refitted and balanced in one go, the pressures are set before we leave, and the only thing that travels is the old tyre.
Typical emergency mobile tyre fitting jobs in Knebworth
Clear of A1(M) junction 7
A driver who came off at junction 7 with a failing tyre parked up on ordinary roads. We fitted and balanced a full size replacement there rather than sending the car onward on a space saver.
Station Road, commuter car
A car left near Station Road all day was found flat on the offside rear at going home time. The replacement went on where it stood, balanced, with our own lights up as it got dark.
Codicote Road, verge fit
A saloon that hit a broken edge on Codicote Road had a bulged sidewall. It was replaced on the verge, the wheel balanced, and the old cover taken away in the van.

Honestly wish I could give more than 5 stars! Last night after leaving Wembley we got a flat tyre, stranded 2 hours from home, and these guys got us back up and running. 10/10 service from start to finish, even at 1am!

Great service, fast and available. My tyre is not one an ordinary garage has in stock, but they just went to get the tyre and replaced it on a Sunday. Recommend.

Came and sorted a replacement tire within half an hour or so. Fast and efficient service.

Emergency Mobile Tyre Fitting in Knebworth, FAQs
No. Motorway lanes and hard shoulders are for National Highways and recovery operators. Get moved to a safe place off the road and we will complete the fit there.
Yes, on the public roads around it and on private drives with permission. Give us an exact location and we will come to the car.
Very little. The balancer is already in the van and running, so spinning a wheel adds a few minutes and removes any chance of a vibration later.
Perfectly fine. Kerbside is our normal working environment. We position the van to shield the job and work from the pavement side wherever possible.
Yes, provided we know in advance so the right sizes are loaded. Tell us on the phone and both go on in the same appointment.
