Mobile Tyre Fitting in the M3 Corridor
The M3 begins at Sunbury Cross and runs south west from there, and its first two junctions sit on the towns we work in daily. Junction 1 takes A308 and A316 traffic onto the motorway at Sunbury-on-Thames, with Shepperton, Ashford and Feltham minutes from the slip roads. Junction 2 is the M25 interchange out by Chertsey.
Why the M3 Corridor drivers call Fast Tyre

The M3 begins at Sunbury Cross and runs south west from there, and its first two junctions sit on the towns we work in daily. Junction 1 takes A308 and A316 traffic onto the motorway at Sunbury-on-Thames, with Shepperton, Ashford and Feltham minutes from the slip roads. Junction 2 is the M25 interchange out by Chertsey.
Long sections of the M3 are all lane running, with no permanent hard shoulder, only emergency areas spaced along the nearside. That is worth saying plainly, because it changes what you do. If a tyre goes and the car will still move safely, come off at the next exit, hazards on. If it will not, ring 999, or National Highways on 0300 123 5000, before you ring us, then get everyone out through the nearside doors and behind the barrier.
We do not attend a live carriageway or a hard shoulder. We come once you are somewhere we can legally and safely work: a service area, a slip road, the next junction, a lay-by clear of the carriageway, or your home or work after recovery. Typically 30 to 60 minutes across London and the nearer Home Counties, longer at the far end of the corridor, with a real time given on the call.
This is a short, fast piece of motorway wrapped in slow local roads. The A308 and the A316 feed junction 1 from Sunbury and Feltham, the A320 and the A317 bring Chertsey traffic round towards junction 2, and the A244 and the A314 fill in between Shepperton and Ashford. Most damage we see on the corridor was picked up on those roads rather than on the motorway itself, then only announced itself once the car got up to speed. Add Heathrow freight through Feltham and the A312, and the tyres out here work harder than the mileage suggests.
Common tyre problems in the M3 Corridor
The situations we get called out to most often across the M3 Corridor:
No hard shoulder west of junction 2
On the all lane running stretch there is nowhere to pull in except an emergency area. Ring 999 or National Highways first and let them close the lane. Once you have been moved somewhere safe, that is the point at which we become useful to you.
Off at junction 1 and into Sunbury
A tyre losing pressure on the approach to Sunbury Cross is best dealt with by leaving at junction 1 and stopping on hard standing off the A308. Give us the road name and we work on the car where it stands rather than moving it again.
Kerb strike on the A244 into Shepperton
The narrow stretches between Shepperton and Ashford have tight kerbs and parked cars either side, and a clipped sidewall does not always go down straight away. We will look at it on your driveway before the car goes near the motorway again.

View service →We fit cars, SUVs, 4x4s and vans. Premium, mid range and budget tyres come on the van, the wheel is balanced there and the TPMS reset before we leave. Punctures are assessed to BS AU 159 and repaired only where the damage sits in the central three quarters of the tread. Sidewall and shoulder damage, and any tyre run flat, is a replacement. Card and contactless taken at the car.
Tyres we fit in the M3 Corridor
We fit the full range at the kerb in the M3 Corridor, from everyday car tyres to 4x4 and van fitments. The size is printed on the sidewall in the form 205/55 R16 91V; read it to us, or just give us the registration.
- Car and hatchback tyres. The everyday fitment, in budget, mid-range and premium. We balance every wheel on site and set the pressures before we leave.
- 4x4, SUV and crossover tyres. Heavier vehicles need the right load index as well as the right size, so we match the rating on the sidewall rather than just the dimensions.
- Winter and all-season tyres. Below roughly seven degrees a summer compound goes hard and stops gripping. Look for the three-peak mountain snowflake on the sidewall, which is the tested cold-weather mark.
- Run-flat tyres. Standard fit on many BMW and MINI models. Once one has been run flat it is a replacement rather than a repair, and we match it across the axle.
- Performance and premium brands. The premium range, Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Pirelli and Goodyear, for cars where wet braking and tread life justify the difference.
- Budget and mid-range tyres. There is nothing wrong with a budget tyre fitted properly. We will tell you honestly which axle is worth spending on rather than selling you four premiums.
- Van and light commercial. Van tyres carry a C rating and a higher load index. Fitting a car tyre to a loaded van is both unsafe and an insurance problem, so we match the correct rating.
Most jobs in the M3 Corridor are done the same day, at the address where the car is already parked.

Mobile tyres in the M3 Corridor, FAQs

Because that section is all lane running, so the nearside lane is a live lane and there is no permanent hard shoulder to stand a car on. Only the police or National Highways can close a lane and make the scene safe. Ring them on 999, or 0300 123 5000, before you ring us. We attend once you are off the carriageway.
Yes, provided the car is on hard standing clear of moving traffic and there is room to open the van doors and get a jack under it. Sunbury, Shepperton, Ashford, Feltham and Chertsey are all short runs for us. Tell us the exact spot on the phone and the right tyre comes out with the van.
On this corridor we work Chertsey, Sunbury-on-Thames, Shepperton, Ashford and Feltham, and the roads between them, the A317, the A320, the A244 and the A308. Further along the M3 towards Hampshire is outside what we cover. Ring with the postcode and you will get a straight yes or no rather than a maybe.
No. An emergency area sits directly alongside live lanes and is meant for getting a vehicle out of traffic, not for standing beside while somebody changes a wheel. It is a place to wait for the authorities, behind the barrier. We fit once recovery has taken the car off the motorway entirely.
The motorway and direction, the junction you last passed, junction 1 or junction 2 if you know it, and the number on the nearest marker post or emergency area sign. Then say how many people are in the car and whether anyone is out and behind the barrier. Keep it short and stay on the line.

Was stuck on the M40. They came very quick and gave me a very good price, arriving within 25 minutes. Very glad I came across this company.

Great service, fast and available. My tyre is not one an ordinary garage has in stock, but they just went to get the tyre and replaced it on a Sunday. Recommend.
