Why a flat at midnight is a different problem
The same puncture is worse at night, and not only because it is dark. There are fewer options, less light, and overnight parking restrictions that can turn one problem into two. If the car is sitting on a red route or in a permit bay, leaving it until morning can cost more than the tyre did.
Tell us the restriction when you call. We would far rather plan around a bay or a red route than arrive and discover there is nowhere legal to put the van.
What we can and cannot do in the dark
We carry work lighting and hi-vis and position the van to shield the working side from passing traffic. On a lit street, a driveway or a car park, a night job is no different from a day job and takes about as long.
Where we will push back is a spot we judge unsafe to work in: an unlit bend, a live lane, a hard shoulder. In those cases we say so and agree a safer plan with you rather than take the booking and put a fitter in the road. That is the one part of this that is not negotiable.
Fitting, not just repair
Plenty of overnight tyre services will patch something and tell you to get it looked at properly in the morning. The vans carry a tyre machine, a balancer and the sizes that come up most often, so a tyre that cannot be saved is replaced there and then and the wheel is balanced before it goes back on. You wake up to a car that is finished rather than one that needs a second appointment.
How it works
Someone picks up at 3am
Not an answerphone, not a callback in the morning. A price and an arrival time on the first call, whatever the hour.
Tell us the parking restriction
A red route or a permit bay changes where the van can stop. We would rather plan around it than arrive and find nowhere legal.
Lit properly, not by phone torch
The van carries work lighting and hi-vis and parks to shield the working side from traffic.
24 Hour Mobile Tyre Fitting Near Me: frequently asked
Yes. The line is answered by a person 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and vans run overnight. Our busiest hours are not office hours.
No. A Sunday night costs the same as a Tuesday morning. There is no out-of-hours surcharge and no night loading. The price depends on the tyre and the work.
Both. If the damage sits within the central three quarters of the tread and the tyre has not been run flat, it is repaired to British Standard BS AU 159. If it cannot be repaired safely we fit a replacement from stock on the same visit.
Often faster than in the day, because the roads are clear. Typically 30 to 60 minutes across London and the nearer Home Counties, longer further out.
Yes, and we do it constantly. We keep the noise down, use our own lighting rather than a phone torch, and clear up before we leave.
