What to do in the first five minutes
Get the car as far off the carriageway as you safely can and put the hazards on. If you are on a fast road, get everyone out on the side away from traffic and stand behind a barrier if there is one, rather than sitting in the car. Then call.
Do not drive on it to reach somewhere better lit or busier. That instinct is understandable and it is the most expensive decision available: a few hundred metres on a flat destroys the sidewall from the inside and turns a repairable puncture into a new tyre.
On a motorway, call the police first
On a motorway or a smart motorway, ring 999 or National Highways on 0300 123 5000 before you ring us. They make the scene safe and they may need to close a lane. We attend once you have been moved to a safe location or a service area. That is not us avoiding the job, it is the only legal and survivable order to do it in.
How it works
Get clear of the traffic
Hazards on, as far off the carriageway as you safely can. On a fast road get out on the side away from traffic and stand behind a barrier.
Motorway? Ring 999 first
On a motorway or smart motorway, National Highways on 0300 123 5000 or 999 makes the scene safe before anyone attends. We come once you are somewhere safe.
Repair or replace at the kerb
We work out which in the first two minutes and finish it there. A missing locking nut key is not a problem; we carry the extractor.
Flat Tyre Help Near Me: frequently asked
Not directly. Call 999 or National Highways on 0300 123 5000 first, get behind the barrier, and let them make the scene safe. We attend once you are somewhere we can legally and safely work.
Not to us. We carry replacement tyres, so a missing spare, a space saver that will not fit or an unusable repair kit are all normal calls rather than a problem.
Yes. We carry the extraction kit and remove locking nuts without the key and without damaging the alloy. Tell us on the call so we bring the right set.
You get one all-in figure on the phone that covers the attendance, the work and the tyre if one is needed. There is no separate callout fee and no out-of-hours surcharge.
